As I have long stated, and the Institute of Medicine (IOM) now admits:
“Vaccines are not free from side effects, or “adverse effects”"
This admission came after a review of more than 1,000 vaccine studies, which was intended to assess the scientific evidence in the medical literature about specific adverse events associated with eight vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); varicella (chickenpox); influenza; hepatitus A; hepatitus B; HPV; diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis (DtaP); and meningococcal. The adverse events selected for IOM review were ones for which people had submitted vaccine injury claims to the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). A convincing causal relationship was found for 14 adverse events and certain vaccines.
14 Dangerous Side Effects Linked to Vaccination, IOM Report Says
In the first comprehensive safety review in nearly two decades, the Institute of Medicine found convincing scientic evidedence for a causal relationship between certain vaccines and serious adverse health outcomes. This includes:
- Vaccine strain varicella zoster infection after vaccination without other organ involvement;
- Vaccine strain varicella zoster infection and subsequent infection resulting in pneumonia, encephalitis, meningitis or hepatitis in individauls with demonstrated immunodeficiences;
Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) Vaccine
- Measles inclusion body encephalitis
- Febrile seizures, a type of seizure that occurs in infants and young children in association with fever
- Short-term joint pain (arthralgia) in children and women
Other findings revealed:
- Six types of vaccines — MMR, varicella zoster (chickenpox), influenza, hepatitis B, meningococcal, and tetanus-containing vaccines — are linked to anaphylaxis (severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction). The HPV vaccine was also linked to anaphylaxis in yeast-sensitive individuals.
- Injection of any vaccine in general can lead to sudden fainting (syncope) and symptoms of deltoid bursitis, or shoulder inflammation
- Two Canadian flu vaccines were linked to oculo-respiratory syndrome characterized by conjunctivitis, facial swelling, and mild respiratory symptoms.
- Scientific research suggests that many people, who experience an adverse reaction to vaccines, have individual susceptbility that can make them at higher risk for experiencing acute and chronic health problems after vaccination due to biodiversity (genetic variations) within populations; age at the time of vaccination; immune deficiencies; coinciding infections/illnesses; and other environmental exposures, (such as toxins, traumas).
Too Little Evidence Available to Effectively Evaluate Most Side Effects
Despite conclusive findings by IOM linking certain vaccines to brain inflammation, febrile seizures and potentially life-threatening infections like pneumonia and meningitis in susceptible individuals, most of the media headlines about the IOM’s 600-page report are spinning the reports conclusions and stating that “few adverse effects are caused by the vaccines reviewed in this report.”
The truth is that the IOM Committee came to this startling conclusion, which they admitted openly and that is:
“For the vast majority, (135 vaccine-adverse event pairs), the evidence is inadequate to accept or reject a causal relationship.”
In other words, for the majority of side effects and health conditions that have occurred in conjunction with vaccinations, they simply have no idea whether the vaccine caused the problem or not. In fact, the IOM Committee warned that there should be no misinterpretation of the fact that they DO NOT KNOW whether or not more than 100 very serious reported health problems linked to the eight vaccines they studied are caused by those vaccines. In most cases, the Committee was unable to come to a conclusion because there are no or very few scientific studies investigating the reported vaccine-related adverse event or the studies, which are published in the medical literture, are metholodologically flawed in some way.
And isn’t this precisely the problem? The current vaccination schedule is a one-size-fits-all approach that has never been proven safe!
As Barbara Loe Fisher, founder of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), stated:
“The truth is, nobody knows how many vaccine victims there are in America, how many of the 1 in 6 learning disabled children; or the 1 in 9 with asthma; or the 1 in 100 who develop autism; or the 1 in 450 who become diabetic, can trace their chronic inflammation, disease and disability back to vaccine reactions that have been dismissed by public health officials and doctors for the past century as just “a coincidence.”"
Or, if they aren’t dismissed as coincidence, they are dismissed on the grounds that there’s not enough data available to establish a “causal relationship.” This is exactly the reason why unbiased vaccine safety studies are so desperately and urgently need.
NVIC recently issued a statement regarding IOM’s new report, noting this very fact:
“The [IOM] Committee was hampered by the same gaps in knowledge regarding vaccine adverse effects that hampered IOM Committees undertaking the same task in 1991 and 1994. For the majority of potential vaccine adverse effects reported to be associated with vaccines, this IOM Committee like those before, came to the conclusion that the biological mechanism and epidemiological evidence published in the medical literature is simply inadequate to accept or reject a causation finding.
This is a very important conclusion, because the current state of science holds no answers for parents and doctors, who for many years have reported multiple vaccine injuries to the government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
Insufficient scientific evidence to make a call about whether certain vaccines do or do not cause a wide range of serious health conditions, such as encephalitis, encephalopathy, stroke, asthma, autism, SIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, lupus, and blood disorders, is problematical when these vaccines are mandated by law to be used by every child and recommended for many adults.
The Committee’s clear acknowledgement that there is a lack of adequate scientific understanding about the way that vaccines act in the human body, including how, when, why and for whom they are harmful, is confirmation that more and higher quality vaccine safety science is urgently needed.”
Why Are So Many Children Receiving Extra Vaccines?
Adding insult to injury, a separate review by independent researchers looking at the 1999-2003 National Immunization Survey data found that nearly 10 percent of children aged 19-35 months have received extra vaccinations and the rate was highest for children who received vaccines at more than one facility or from more than one provider. This is the last thing that kids need, considering that just about every year one or more “new” vaccines are added to the already overloaded schedule.
As it stands, children are expected to get 48 doses of 14 vaccines by the time they’re just 6 years old – staring with the first vaccine given on the day of birth in the newborn nursery! By age 18, federal public health officials say they should have gotten a total of 69 doses of 16 vaccines.
This “prescription” is the same for every U.S. child, even though it’s well known that all children are not the same biologically – as the recent Institute of Medicine report clearly points out – and some children will not be able to survive the currently recommended vaccine schedule without suffering serious harm to their health. And if you take your child to multiple health care providers or facilities, the odds are high that they may be mistakenly given “extra” vaccines on top of the recommended schedule.
To avoid this, if you do decide to vaccinate, be sure you keep a detailed record of which vaccinations your child has received, and when – do not rely on your doctor’s office to do that for you. It is also a good idea to have your child’s vaccination history on hand in the event there is a vaccine reaction.
You Can View Common Vaccine Reactions Right Now
The IOM report may feel there is too little evidence to make conclusions about vaccine-induced side effects, but you can make a conclusion for yourself by reading the entire IOM report yourself at:
You can also review the vaccine adverse event reports made by doctors and patients or parents themselves to the federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a national surveillance database to which anyone can post a vaccine reaction report. VAERS was established in 1986 under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, which requires health professionals to report serious health problems, including hospitalizations, injuries and deaths, that occur after the administration of routinely recommended vaccines.
An important aspect of VAERS is that anyone can both read and post vaccine adverse events to this database. So if your doctor discounts your concerns about vaccination (or afterward, if your child regresses or gets ill after a vaccine), you can verify or report them yourself — and people are doing just that when doctors or other vaccine providers refuse to report to VAERS after a vaccine reaction occurs.
You can access VAERS here, or you can go to Medalarts.org, which provides an easy, powerful search engine for looking up specific reactions or vaccines in the VAERS database. With over 70 vaccines included, VAERS is an excellent tool that can help you read descriptions of vaccine reactions and identify which vaccines are associated with the most side effects. It is important to know, though, that only a tiny fraction of serious health problems that occur after vaccination are actually reported. Studies have estimated that less than 10 percent, to as little as ONE percent of vaccine side effects are ever reported to VAERS, so the true side effects are easily FAR higher than the statistics show.

“Tapped: The Movie,” by Stephanie Soechtig, is a film that examines the role of the bottled water industry and its effects on health, climate change, pollution, and reliance on oil.
The film begins with the shocking statement: “By 2030, two-thirds of the world will be lacking access to clean drinking water.” Several factors play a role in whether or not this frightful estimation will become a reality—one of which is the corporate control of drinking water.
Should Water be Allowed to be Managed as a Profit-Driven Commodity?
Beyond the issues of your health and the environment, which I’ll discuss in a moment, bottled water represents a novel form of privatization, in which private corporations have succeeded at making water a commodity.
The film compares the cost of drinking water to gasoline, stating that as the cost of water has surpassed the cost of gas, it’s becoming evident that drinking water is the next Empire… Already, the World Bank has estimated the value of the world water market at $800 billion per year.
In communities around the United States, people are now gathering together to protect their local water supplies from being sold by private corporations.
Changes in global climate have caused water supplies to dwindle in certain areas, and the film includes a segment highlighting the irony many of these communities now face. For example, in 2007, Raleigh, North Carolina faced a terrible drought. Yet the Pepsi plant continued their water bottling plant operations even at the height of the drought. Pepsi Company used an estimated 400,000 gallons of municipal water a day, which they bottled and sold back to the community right as it was running out of water… It would seem obvious that water supplies should be reserved for the local communities, but as stated in the film, when private corporations control the water supply, you end up with “a collision in moral values.”
I highly recommend setting aside some time to view this important film, to learn more about the water industry, and how it affects you.
I would say, and I suspect you would agree, that water is more a “right” than it is a commodity. And that private corporations should have no more control over the selling of water than they do the selling of our air supplies. Unfortunately, even public water supplies are being increasingly taken over by private corporations, and in some areas of the world are up for grabs by the highest bidder.
Is there anything you can do about it?
Sure. You can get involved on a local level, but even beyond that, we, as consumers, can simply refuse to buy into the “water as a commodity scheme,” by not buying bottled water. And there are plenty of reasons for ditching this habit.
Why Pay 1,900 Times More for Your Water?
Many Americans still drink bottled water under the belief that it is healthier than the water from their tap. Unfortunately, many bottled waters are simply bottled tap water, which may or may not have received any additional treatment. For example, Pepsi’s Aquafina and Coca-Cola Co.’s Dasani bottled waters are both made of purified water from public reservoirs. The major difference is the price. You pay 1,900 times as much for this water, simply because it’s now in a plastic bottle.Furthermore, most municipal tap water must actually adhere to stricter purity standards than the bottled water industry. An independent test performed by the Environmental Working Group revealed 38 low-level contaminants in bottled water, with each of the 10 tested brands containing an average of eight chemicals including:
- Disinfection byproducts (DBPs)
- Caffeine and Tylenol
- Industrial chemicals
- Arsenic and bacteria
So what you are paying for is often no different, or even worse, than the water that comes out of your faucet. And when you factor in the harm that may be caused by health-harming chemicals that can leach from the plastic bottle, and the environmental impact of plastic garbage, bottled water becomes a losing proposition no matter how you look at it.
Drinking from Plastic Bottles May Be Harmful to Your Health
When drinking bottled water you need to think not only about the purity of the water but also about the bottle itself. Plastic is not an inert substance like glass. It contains chemicals like bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, which mimic hormones in your body. These chemicals can leach out and contaminate the water under the best of conditions, but tends to increase anytime the bottle has been exposed to heat, and when it is reused. This is a concern as even tiny concentrations of these chemicals can cause health problems such as:
|Structural damage to your brain||Increased fat formation and risk of obesity||Altered immune function||Stimulation of prostate cancer cells|
|Hyperactivity, increased aggressiveness, and impaired learning||Early puberty, stimulation of mammary gland development, disrupted reproductive cycles, and ovarian dysfunction||Changes in gender-specific behavior, and abnormal sexual behavior||Increased prostate size, and decreased sperm production|
Plastic Trash is a Major Environmental Threat
As discussed in the film, the bottled water industry is also a major contributor to pollution and environmental destruction, in more ways than one:
- About 1.5 million tons of plastic are used to manufacture water bottles each year around the world, and the processing itself releases toxic compounds like nickel, ethylbenzene, ethylene oxide and benzene into the environment
- According to the Sierra Club, the U.S. alone uses 1.5 million barrels of oil to make plastic water bottles, the majority of which then end up in landfills
- Plastic is also a major source of oceanic pollution. An article published last year in Wired Magazine reported that “bisphenol A, a synthetic compound that mimics estrogen and is linked to developmental disorders, is ubiquitous in Earth’s oceans”
- Plastic pollution has even entered the food chain, and it’s not just marine animals that are being affected. You, too, are ingesting minute levels of plastics every day, which means you’re exposed to a mix of plastic chemicals and additives that are incompatible with life
- The industry also hurts the environment and threatens the water supplies of local communities by pumping water from underground aquifers. These natural springs serve as water sources for nearby streams, wells and farms, but the aggressive pumping can easily dry them out prematurely
What’s the Solution?
One you realize that many sources of bottled water have the following characteristics, the choice to stop using it becomes simple. Fortunately, the alternative to having pure water is also simple: filter your own at home.
- No safer than tap water
- Extremely expensive
- Often contaminated by plastics chemicals
- Contributing to massive environmental harm
Why Filtering Your Tap Water is so Important
Obviously it would be far less expensive to filter the water yourself for your chronic water use. It does make sense to have access to bottled water when you do not have access to the filtered water in your home.
As mentioned previously, bottled water is less regulated than common tap water; so you can never be certain what will be in it. But drinking unfiltered tap water can also be a risky proposition in many areas. Between 2004 and 2009, more than 20 percent of U.S. water treatment systems were found to have violated key provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act, yet fewer than six percent of these violations were ever fined or punished.
You can get a general idea of what types of contaminants could be in your drinking water by reviewing the following graphic from GOOD (reprinted with permission.) It gives you a look at the five most and least polluted water systems in America (in cities with a population of more than 100,000), and highlights the pollutants that are of greatest concern to your health.
Over 70 percent of US municipal water supplies also have fluoride (a highly toxic poison) added during water treatment, which has been linked to a number of health problems, most notably reduced IQ and immune system disruption.
And then there are disinfection byproducts, or DBPs, which are responsible for most of the toxic effects of chlorinated water. Chlorine by itself is relatively harmless, but when used to treat water, it produces DBP’s as a side effect and these potent toxic chemicals have been linked to reproductive disorders and cancer.
What is the BEST Water You Can Drink?
I believe the absolute finest source of water in the world comes not from artesian wells but from gravity-fed mountain springs, obtained directly from where it emerges from the earth. This water is naturally filtered and structured by the earth itself, and contains living organisms like certain types of beneficial algae.
If you’re up to the task, you can collect your own spring water for your drinking water needs. There is a web site called Find a Spring.com where you can locate your nearest natural spring. The website also allows you to add a spring that is not currently in the database. You can include information about the spring’s temperature and location, and insert pictures or videos you took. If you don’t live near a mountain, don’t despair, as just about any spring is better than all other available options. So if you’re at sea level, just use a local spring.
Typically they are monitored by the local municipalities for contaminants, and best of all, most of these springs are FREE. That’s right, the best water in the world and there is no charge for it!
You can easily store 10 five-gallon jugs in most cars and it is a wonderful opportunity to escape the city and mingle with nature. Large water bottles can be purchased online. Glass would be best, but in that case, you may be better off using the three-gallon jars as the five-gallon jugs are quite large, and get very heavy when filled with water. Just remember to wrap the bottles with some blankets or towels so they don’t bang against each other and break in your car.
Recommendations for In-Home Water Filtration
If you could only afford one filter, there is no question in most experts minds that the shower filter is the most important, even more important than filtering your drinking water. This may sound odd, but this is because the biological damage you incur via exposure to water contaminants through your skin and lungs far surpasses the damage done by drinking it (as ingesting it at least gives your body a fighting chance to eliminate the toxins through your organs of elimination).
Naturally, the best solution would be to install a whole house water filtration system. This not only protects your body (inside and out), but also your appliances as well. There’s just one water line coming into your house. Putting a filter on this is the easiest and simplest strategy you can implement to take control of your health by ensuring the water in your house is as clean as possible.
I recommend systems that use at least 60 pounds of filter media and can produce eight or more gallons a minute. When you are running two different showers, the dishwasher and the kitchen sink at the same time, you’ll find our why these minimum levels are so important. This recommendation covers a home or apartment up to 3200 sq./ft. If your home is larger than that, you may need two whole house water filtration systems.
I also recommend looking for a whole house water filter that has three separate stages of contamination removal:
- Stage one removes sediment.
- Stage two removes chlorine and heavy metals.
- Stage three should be a heavy-duty carbon filter for removing hormones, drug residues, chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides.
You want to look for granular carbon in the carbon filter, not a solid block of carbon. The granular carbon allows for better water flow, which translates to more water pressure and better filtering properties as well.
Also look for NSF certification, which ensures your water filter is meeting national standards. NSF certification is not given before a product can prove it removes everything it claims to remove. It’s also good to makes sure all particles under 0.8 microns are being filtered out of the water. A lower number is actually better, but 0.8 microns is the standard I recommend because that covers most bacteria, viruses and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Honeybees are perhaps one of the least recognized workers in the agricultural industry. They contribute $15 billion in annual agriculture revenue to the U.S. economy alone, as a full one-third of the U.S. food supply depends on them pollinating crops.
Apple orchards, for instance, require one colony of bees per acre in order to be adequately pollinated. So, unless the mysterious disappearance of bees is reversed, major food shortages could result.
This is not a brand new issue.
For several years now, scientists have been struggling to determine why bee colonies across the world are disappearing—a phenomenon dubbed colony collapse disorder (CCD). In a series of reports and videos, PBS talks about the bee colony devastation and its impact on the food supply and U.S. agriculture.

What’s Causing Colony Collapse Disorder?
A few different theories are currently circulating that may explain the bee die-offs:
- Pesticides and insecticides—such as Imidacloprid and Clothianidin, which kills insects by attacking their nervous systems. These are known to get into pollen and nectar, and can damage beneficial insects such as bees. According to the EPA’s fact sheet on clothianidin:
“Clothianidin has the potential for toxic chronic exposure to honey bees, as well as other nontarget pollinators, through the translocation of clothianidin residues in nectar and pollen … In honey bees, the effects of this toxic chronic exposure may include lethal and/or sub-lethal effects in the larvae and reproductive effects on the queen.”
Unfortunately, the EPA approved these pesticides, known as neonicotinoids, on the basis that the amounts found in pollen and nectar are not enough to kill bees. However, the marketing of these pesticides coincided with the occurrence of large-scale bee deaths in many European countries and the United States, resulting in lawsuits against Bayer.
Meanwhile, France banned Imidacloprid for use on corn and sunflowers after reporting large losses of bees after exposure to it. They also rejected Bayer´s application for Clothianidin, and other countries, such as Italy, have banned certain neonicotinoids as well. Another possibility is the inadvertent transfer of built-in pesticides found in genetically engineered crops, which has now been shown to create ‘pesticide factories’ in the human gut…
- Malnutrition/Nutritional deficiencies—Many beekeepers place the hives near fields of identical crops, which may result in malnutrition as the bees are only getting one type of nectar. This possibility is discussed in the PBS video, “Silence of the Bees.” Essentially, this theory is identical to that of human nutrition; we need a wide variety of nutrients from different foods. If you keep eating the same limited range of foods, you can easily end up suffering from nutritional deficiencies.
Poor nutrition suppresses immune function, making the bees far more susceptible to toxins from pesticides, viruses, fungi, or a combination of factors that ultimately kill them.
- Viruses and fungi—There’s also the possibility that some new form of “AIDS-like” viral infection is affecting the bees. In one 2010 study published in PLoS, researchers claim CCD is due to “a fungus tag-teaming with a virus.” However, the study was found to be heavily tainted by financial conflicts of interest.
The study’s lead author, Dr. Jerry Bromenshenk, had received a significant research grant from Bayer Crop Science to study bee pollination. Even more suspicious is the timing of the grant. Bromenshenk was reportedly all set to serve as an expert witness in 2003 for beekeepers involved in a class-action lawsuit against Bayer. He dropped out without explanation, however, and subsequently received the grant from Bayer.
Bromenshenk also owns Bee Alert Technology, a company that is developing hand-held scanners designed to detect bee ailments. His company would therefore profit nicely if a disease, such as a virus, was found to be causing CCD rather than a pesticide. So, all in all, his study, which suggests a virus/fungus combination is killing off bees is by no means the final word on the subject. Then again, it may very well play a role in combination with malnutrition causing reduced immune function.
The Cell Phone Connection: Are EMFs Causing Bee Colonies to Collapse?
It’s also hard to ignore research that points to cell phones and electromagnetic fields (EMF) as major threats to the bee population. Researchers have discovered that when a cellular phone is placed near a hive, the radiation generated by it (900-1,800 MHz) is enough to prevent bees from returning to them, according to a study conducted at Landau University several years ago.
This result was duplicated in 2009 by Sainuddeen Pattazhy, a researcher and dean in the department of zoology at SN College, Punalur, Kerala. His experiments showed that microwaves from mobile phones appear to interfere with worker bees’ navigation skills. When cell phones were placed near beehives, the hives collapsed completely in five to 10 days. The worker bees simply failed to return home…
Adding to the mystery, parasites, wildlife and other bees, which would normally raid the abandoned hives, would not go near the collapsed colonies. Pattazhy said in The Pioneer:
“The navigation skill of the worker bees is dependent on the earth’s magnetic properties. The electro-magnetic waves emitted by the mobile phones and relay towers interfere with the earth’s magnetism, resulting in loss of the navigation capacity of the bee. Then it fails to come back. So, the radiation causes damage to the nervous system of the bee and it becomes unable to fly.”
More recently, a study published earlier this summer found that the presence of microwaves from cell phones have a dramatic effect on bees, causing them to become quite disturbed. So, cell phones and related wireless technologies appear to be another likely threat to bees around the globe, and there may be a cumulative effect going on that is making it more and more difficult for bees to survive, let alone thrive.
Beware of Contaminated Honey…
The U.S. consumes about 400 million pounds of honey a year, according to Food Safety News, which recently reported that dangerous, adulterated honey is reaching the US market in massive quantities. According to their investigation, about a third or more of all this honey is illegally smuggled into the US from China.
“Honey laundering” may sound odd, but it’s actually quite serious as much of this honey is tainted with illegal antibiotics, including chloramphenicol, and heavy metals like lead.
The US FDA banned chloramphenicol after it was discovered that children given this antibiotic become susceptible to DNA damage and carcinogenicity. China uses it to combat a bacterial epidemic of foulbrood disease, which has been decimating bee colonies. According to public health experts, presence of chloramphenicol in honey can cause aplastic anemia—a severe and potentially fatal reaction—in certain people. The lead contamination is caused by the unlined, lead-soldered drums used by many small-scale beekeepers in China to collect and store the honey.
As of last summer, 27 European countries banned all shipments of Asian honey for these reasons. Unfortunately, even if you decide to avoid this problem by buying locally-produced honey (which would be ideal), you are likely getting it anyway unless your diet consists primarily of whole foods, because 65 percent of all honey consumed is used by food manufacturers for the use in all sorts of processed foods…
Are You Buying FAKE Honey?
Furthermore, there’s also the issue of fake honey being sold as the real thing…
“[A] favorite con among Chinese brokers was to mix sugar water, malt sweeteners, corn or rice syrup, jaggery, barley malt sweetener or other additives with a bit of actual honey. In recent years, many shippers have eliminated the honey completely and just use thickened, colored, natural or chemical sweeteners labeled as honey.”
High quality raw honey has many health benefits, but you have to know what you’re looking for. Most store bought honey is filtered and pasteurized, which removes most of the beneficial nutrients and basically leaves you with liquid sugar. Manuka honey is the top of the line in terms of quality, both for internal and external use. In fact, the FDA has approved Manuka honey to be used in wound and burn care in the United States. If you can’t find Manuka, your next best option would be raw honey produced by a local beekeeper.

Most people regard a cavity, or even a root canal, as a minor inconvenience. But if your tooth has begun to decay to the point that a cavity is evident, this is a major sign that disease-causing bacteria has begun to overpower your immune system and your body.
In fact, your teeth are constantly under attack from the foods you eat, the beverages you drink and bacteria, so much so that your body constantly works at repairing small amounts of damage to the enamel of your teeth. If you’re healthy, this should be enough to prevent cavities from forming, but if the bacteria overwhelm your system, dental decay can result.
Specifically, cavities form on your teeth when the acid-producing bacteria in plaque dissolve the mineral in your teeth. While microscopic at first, the cavities can increase in size and number until the decay must be drilled out and repaired with a filling or crown, a root canal performed, or the tooth removed. But now researchers have developed a paste that may actually stop and even reverse this dental decay process, helping your body to rebuild your teeth from the inside out.
Is This the End of the Dentist’s Drill?
Researchers at the University of Leeds have developed a peptide-based fluid known as P 11-4. When applied to a decayed tooth, P 11-4 forms a gel-like scaffold that attracts calcium to help rebuild your tooth. As the University of Leeds reported in a press release:
“In practice, this means that when applied to the tooth, the fluid seeps into the micro-pores caused by acid attack and then spontaneously forms a gel. This gel then provides a ‘scaffold’ or framework that attracts calcium and regenerates the tooth’s mineral from within, providing a natural and pain-free repair.”
When the fluid was tested on a small group of adults with early tooth decay, results showed P 11-4 successfully reversed the damage and regenerated tooth tissue. This is the latest data from what appears to be a promising new dental strategy. Similarly, in 2008 scientists were also able to rebuild dentin and remineralize some parts of the teeth with the help of a calcium-containing solution of ions.
Regenerating your tooth from within is a far superior option to the “drill-and-fill” model currently used today, and it appears to be a technique that may soon be widely available in dentists’ offices. Aside from the obvious benefit of tooth regeneration while sparing people the pain and fear of having a tooth drilled, this new procedure could virtually obliterate the use of toxic mercury fillings (if our efforts don’t get them banned first!) …
If You Have a Cavity, Resist This Archaic Dental Procedure
The very process of “filling and drilling” a cavity is a rather outdated practice, but so far there has been no other practical solution to remove the damaged areas of a tooth and “repair” it. But, adding insult to injury, about 50 percent of U.S. dentists are still using mercury to fill cavity-ridden teeth — even though exposure to mercury, the most toxic and more vaporous of the heavy metals, can harm your kidneys, permanently damage your child’s developing neurological system, and even kill your unborn child in the womb!
To implant amalgam, a dentist drills out healthy tooth matter in order to carve the crater necessary for amalgam placement — a primitive process that irreversibly weakens tooth structure. With a damaged tooth structure and with a metal-based filling that expands and contracts with temperature changes, teeth with amalgam are much more likely to crack years later, necessitating additional dental work.
Amalgams are quick and easy. Dentists make more money per chair per day implanting mercury. For factory-style dentistry, where teeth represent dollar signs instead of part of a human being, dentists drill, fill, and bill. The term “drill, fill, and bill” is a joke aspiring dentists learn in dental school. But when it comes to mercury – it’s no joke. Please realize that mercury vapor from amalgams passes readily through your cell membranes, across the blood-brain barrier, and into your central nervous system, where it can cause psychological, neurological, and immunological problems.
Yet, even though it may be a few years before P 11-4 and other tooth-regenerating fluids are widely available, there are solid alternatives to mercury fillings available right now. One of the most popular is resin composite, which is made of a type of plastic reinforced with powdered glass. Unlike amalgam, resin composite does not require the removal of significant amounts of healthy tooth matter. Over the long term, composite preserves healthy tooth structure and actually strengthens teeth, leading to better oral health and less extensive dental work over the long-term.
A lesser-known alternative is atraumatic restorative treatment (also called alternative restorative treatment or ART), which relies on adhesive materials for the filling (instead of mercury) and uses only hand instruments to place the filling, making it particularly well-suited for rural areas of developing countries.
Preventing Cavities 101: The Secret to Healthy Teeth
Tooth regeneration is certainly a step up from using toxic substances like mercury to fill your teeth. But do you know what’s even better than tooth regeneration? Protecting your teeth and preventing cavities in the first place.
When it comes to oral hygiene and preventing cavities, there’s a virtual war going on. If you listen to conventional health agencies’ and your dentist’s advice, you may still believe that fluoride is the answer.
The only way you can believe this misguided advice is if you completely ignore the science. Good oral health and strong, healthy teeth are NOT the result of drinking fluoridated water and brushing your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste. Rather it’s all about your diet.
Dr. Weston A. Price, who was one of the major nutritional pioneers of all time, completed some of the most incredible research on this topic back in the 1900s, and it is still very much relevant today. Most people whose diet includes very little sugar and few processed foods have very low rates of tooth decay. So the simple act of limiting, or eliminating sugar, and avoiding processed foods — along with regular cleanings with your natural mercury-free dentist — will ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy and cavity-free naturally.

You may recognize Jim Navarro from the documentary film Cut Poison Burn, which I recently posted. You can watch the entire film for free. If you haven’t seen it yet, I urge you to take the time to view it now.
Jim is the father of Thomas Navarro, who at the age of four was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer. The family ended up in a protracted battle against the medical monopoly after objecting to the conventional treatment, choosing instead to seek out less invasive, less damaging, and less life threatening approaches. However, the medical system’s response was swift and callous.
In fact, in the months that followed Thomas’ diagnosis, the family went into hiding to keep their son away from the authorities who threatened to take him into custody, charging Jim and Donna Navarro with child abuse and neglect.
The Navarro’s wanted to use Dr. Burzynski’s non-toxic, highly successful antineoplaston treatment instead of conventional chemotherapy and radiation. However, the FDA went to great lengths to prevent Thomas from receiving the therapy, and only after extensive legal wrangling, great expense, and being forced to submit to conventional treatment first did the family finally receive approval to use Dr. Burzynski. Unfortunately, at that point it was too late. The damage from the chemo was too great, and he lost his battle with cancer at the tender age of six. His death certificate states the cause of death as:

Did You Know: As a Parent, You Don’t have the Right to Choose Treatment for Your Child?
Chemotherapy is a cytotoxic poison, and radiation is devastating to the human body, particularly to young children who are still developing. Jim’s wife, a military combat medic, began doing research in an effort to find some other alternative that would keep their son alive. Jim soon delved into research as well. He learned of Dr. Burzynski while scouring chat rooms and forums on the internet.
“My focus was on the fact that they said there are no known survivors [of medulloblastoma],” he says. “The first thing I Googled was ‘survivors of medulloblastoma.’ As I found these chat rooms, the common denominator was always a mention of a Dr. Burzynski…
I called, and the very first thing they told me was, “I’m sorry but you can’t bring your son here.” I was like, “What?” They said, “You don’t understand. The FDA won’t allow us to treat him. According to the protocols, he has to first go through radiation and chemo and fail, and have recurrent tumors. Until then, he can’t qualify.”
It took 18 months of legal wrangling with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to get Thomas approved for treatment by Dr. Burzynski. By then he had already had his second brain surgery, and had already been forced to undergo chemotherapy, and had already suffered recurring tumors—likely induced by the chemotherapy itself. After all that, he finally fulfilled all the requirements to be allowed to try Dr. Burzynski’s treatment—a treatment, which by the way, has a success rate that far surpasses chemo and radiation…
“What people don’t know is once he began the antineoplaston therapy with Burzynski, before dying, it not only extended his life another seven months but he also had a 33 percent reduction of tumors,” Navarro says. “A father’s hope is, had he not been polluted and poisoned with chemotherapy, had we not been stopped, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he would be alive today.”
Who Decides What’s Best and Right for You or Your Child?
This kind of perversion of justice poses as the best care available. And there are four primary organizations that are responsible for this travesty: the FDA, the American Cancer Society, the National Cancer Institute, and the child services system. These are the white-collar bureaucrats making life and death decisions about people they’ve never met or cared for in a medical capacity. Their primary objective is to protect the profits of Big Pharma and the cancer industry itself.
Navarro describes the Child Protective Services (CPS) as “the thugs of the doctors, the pharmaceutical companies, and the FDA,” and it’s easy to see why, when you hear his story.
“When we began, we were completely uncomfortable with everything and we wanted a second opinion. The minute those words are heard: ‘second opinion,’ CPS is brought into it,” he explains. “You’re charged with child abuse and medical neglect automatically. The charges go up from there depending on your level of resistance. They will kick in your door; come in armed. They will attempt to kidnap your child, which we had gone through several times with Thomas. By any means necessary they will get your child.
It didn’t used to be that way. Doctors sadly have gotten to the point where they don’t even threaten you with CPS, they just contact them when you don’t know about it.
… Donna and I had a hearing on the first [CPS] case, because there were actually two; one in Arizona and one in Texas, and I said, “Child abuse? I don’t think so. Medical neglect? I don’t think so. I am spending approximately $12,000 to $15,000 a month on my son’s well being. I have him continually checked by doctors and nurses. He’s got a health regimen, which includes a change of diet, vitamins, supplements. I’m doing all the right things, plus I have a wife that is by profession a caregiver. She spent many years in the emergency room, ER and trauma. I’ve got a sense that she knows what she’s doing.
… [T]he first thing they try to do is make you feel guilty when you don’t comply… [T]hey also hold control over whether or not you get to stay at Ronald McDonald House, or you get your wish from Make-A-Wish…”
And You Thought Your Donations Went to ANY Sick Child in Need…
This may surprise some of you who dutifully donate money to charitable organizations like the Ronald McDonald House and the Make a Wish Foundation. These organizations do not use that money to provide services to just any sick child who might want or need it. Their services are to a large extent exclusive to patients who participate in the conventional system of standard care.
“[W]e initially were not allowed to check in at the Ronald McDonald House,” Navarro says. “Why not?… “[B]ecause his doctor in Arizona withdrew his recommendation and without the doctor’s recommendation you can’t come here.” … So everyone is giving to this place, for children with cancer to stay, and now you’re telling me because [the doctor] said no, there’s a difference between him sick then and sick today?”
The doctor also pulled his recommendation for Thomas’ application with the Make-A-Wish foundation. They got the call that it had been retracted on the day Thomas was scheduled to actually receive his wish.
“The attitude is, “Unless I have your child; unless I get to treat him, he’s not sick. It’s like the FDA… In the eyes of the FDA…He doesn’t have cancer. Why doesn’t he have cancer? “Because you’re not doing our treatment and until he does our treatment we will not deem him sick.”
The Navarros filed six appeals to the FDA after the initial paperwork to do a compassionate exemption, but the agency rejected all of them.
“The FDA plays God and tells you when you’re sick, because they’re not going to say you have cancer until they have guaranteed you have it, with no recovery through Cut Poison and Burn. I see that as a crime against humanity,” Navarro says.
Corruption and Conflicts of Interest Rules Cancer Industry. Who Pays?
Unfortunately, the patients do—usually both with their life and everything they own. Part of the system that creates corruption and conflict of interest is that a large portion of the FDA’s income is generated through fees paid by the drug companies. And there’s probably no other disease that has a higher profit level than cancer treatments. Navarro tells the story of meeting a member of Congress who warned him to back off, saying:
“Son, you can’t go up there. You’re going to cost a lot of people a lot of money; put a lot of people out of work, and they’re just not going to take kindly to that. We’ve been receiving death threats in the night—you’ll never live to see him treated. Back off.”
He didn’t then and he still won’t “back off.” … But threats aside, the financial price has been just as devastating as any emotional and psychological price the Navarro’s have paid for being unwilling participants in the current system. Thomas’ disease and subsequent forced treatments resulted in what Navarro calls “a financial tsunami.”
“We were living a very normal average life. The refrigerator was always full. Two cars in the driveway. The cost of keeping Thomas alive for those 26 and a half months was about 1.6 million dollars… The chemotherapy in those little bags is $43,000 a bag… They prescribed 10,” Navarro says. “That doesn’t include the doctor, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, the pharmacist, the room, the meal… He left us an additional $550,000+ in debt… I’m approaching 60 and no one would hire me because I hadn’t worked in 2-1/2 years. We didn’t have a home. The same with Donna… You have to start all over. The college funds went… Everything went…
[W]hen Thomas died, it left us with a four-year-old son, $4, and we lived in our van. We were homeless.”
Not only that. With just four dollars in their pocket, they also couldn’t afford to give Thomas a proper burial. He would have gone into an unmarked county grave had it not been for a man named James Earthman, co-owner of Earthman Funeral Homes. The Navarro’s case had gotten a lot of media attention, and the funeral home graciously donated the entire funeral, including casket, flowers, gravestone and services.
It’s hard to fathom a medical system that threatens you and abuses you, and forces you to undergo toxic medical treatments against your will, while raking in massive amounts of money for these forced treatments; bankrupting you to the point you can’t even afford a simple funeral once the toxic treatments fail—which they usually do.
But what about their insurance, you may ask. Didn’t they have any? Yes, they did, but as so many other Americans have come to find out, medical expenses incurred by families WITH insurance is the number one cause of bankruptcy in the US.
“They have a cap on cancer,” Navarro explains. “I didn’t know that. They capped everything, which isn’t a lot because again they’re in bed with each other; insurance, pharmaceutical. I won’t get started on that because that makes my blood boil but a lot of it was on us after the cap was reached…”
Having the Freedom to Choose Just Might Save Your Life
In a somewhat ironic twist, when an acquaintance, also named Thomas, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he asked Jim for advice. He ended up going to Dr. Nick Gonzales in New York—another alternative cancer treatment center that I’ve written about this past spring that uses a three-pronged nutritional approach. Pancreatic cancer is typically terminal within months, and Thomas had been given about 60 days to live. At the time of this interview, Thomas is still alive, nine months after starting his treatment.
“I want people to understand they have been lied to for a very long time, and that they don’t need to ask for options. They need to demand them,” Navarro says when asked about what message he wants people to take home from the film.
“They work for us. We don’t work for them. I come to you and I’m sick; you work for me. I’m not your employee going, “Well doctor, can I get well now?” That’s what is topsy-turvy all the way up to government. We keep forgetting who’s the boss in that scenario. … I want them to get out there and say, “Stop. No more. You will not poison my family. You will not poison my kids and you will be held accountable. You will provide that which will preserve life instead of destroy life.”
Thomas’ death is shocking in that it wasn’t necessary. If the FDA and the oncologists had simply given them the opportunity to exercise freedom of choice to seek whatever therapy they thought appropriate, he may still be alive, and the Navarro’s might not be financially ruined either, as alternative treatments typically end up costing a fraction of their conventional counterparts.
“The horror to us was that in the United States of America, land of the free, home of the brave, you have no legal right as a parent to select the doctors or the treatment for your child,” Navarro says.
The Navarro’s were actually able to administer an alternative remedy that seemed to work prior to Thomas being prescribed chemo. It was a concoction made by a Tibetan doctor.
“A lot of people don’t understand that in Tibet they practice medicine for 30 years before they are allowed to have a real patient. After his MRIs, after his surgery, Thomas had 11 inoperable tumors in his head, neck, and spine. They [the Tibetan doctor] gave him what they refer to as “the jewel.” It looked like a jaw breaker. They ground it up until it was just like dust and then you brew and steep it as a tea… He had one cup a day. It took 10 weeks… no more tumors, no cancer. It was gone! Done!
The hospital freaked out. Who are these guys? What are they doing? And that’s when they went after the chemo. “Sorry, hospital policy. Got to have the chemo, 10 cycles, blah, blah, blah.” There wasn’t going to be a chance to get in there with something that worked. They had to make bloody sure that they dispatched it.”
In the end, it was the chemo that killed Thomas NOT his brain cancer…

“The good news is we’re almost done… The bad news: We don’t make anything. In fact, if we have a mailer or a flier or need stamps, it’s coming out of your pocket… [I]f you thought it was a job; it’s not. It’s all about helping,” he says.
I’m also making the DVD available on my site. Of these proceeds, 80 percent will go to the producers and Jim Navarro’s family. I’m giving the remaining 20 percent to the Grassroots Health’s Breast Cancer Prevention Project. All monies donated to them from the sale of Cut Poison Burn will be used to enroll women 60 and over in a project aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of vitamin D in breast cancer prevention. What Else Can You Do?
So, what can you do to address this kind of medical injustice and stop it from happening to you or someone you love? Navarro suggests:
“First of all on a local level, become familiar with your representatives. You need to become familiar with their voting record, and if they really want to help, to be honest, buy their representative a copy of the DVD and give it to them as a gift saying, “This is my concern. Tell me as my representative you won’t let this happen to me.” And then they need to educate themselves.
… They can form groups and get together once a month, one every two months and talk. What are our needs in our community? What are the laws in our community?”
Local action works as Utah was actually able to get legislation passed to prevent the abuses of Child Protection Service Agencies to cause the type of harm they did in this case. Navarro is still working on legislation to protect patients’ rights.
“The original bill, which was the Thomas Navarro Patient Rights Act is actually being matured,” he explains. “It’s gone from 3-1/2 pages; we’re now at 14 pages and counting. We’re going to be reintroducing it, Lord willing before this session is over, and it’s an expanded version. The beginning starts with the original premise of the 3-1/2 pages but now we’re kind of forcing everyone to get into lock-step 2 – that insurance can’t discriminate and so on and so forth.
… It’s already been in two [Congressional] sessions and again, I hate to say it, it is a left-right issue. It’s not an up and down issue like most everything else we have. Henry Waxman killed it the first time. Kennedy killed it in the senate. We’re doing it all over again. The difference now is people, generally, are so angry with government whether it’s left or right, that it’s back to up and down, good thing/bad thing.”
… There is a web in there… [But] I’m not afraid. Until I draw my last breath, I’ll keep fighting for whoever needs help… And the battle starts all again when we go back and reintroduce the bill. I encourage people get busy, get educated and start with your local government.”

If you’re interested in living a longer, healthier life, nothing beats proper diet and exercise—even low amounts of exercise. A recent study published in the journal Lancet, which included several hundred thousand people between 1996 and 2008 found that a mere 15 minutes of exercise a day can increase your lifespan by three years!
Those who got themselves moving for at least 15 minutes a day, or 90 minutes a week, also had a 14 percent reduced risk of all-cause mortality.
“Every additional 15 minutes of daily exercise beyond the minimum amount of 15 minutes a day further reduced all-cause mortality by 4 percent, and all-cancer mortality by 1 percent. These benefits were applicable to all age groups and both sexes, and to those with cardiovascular disease risks.
Individuals who were inactive had a 17 percent increased risk of mortality compared with individuals in the low-volume group.”
How Exercise Increases Life Expectancy
Exercise is known to be effective in the prevention of disease of all kinds which, naturally, will allow you to live longer.
For example, exercise can help:
Researchers have measured the biochemical changes that occur during exercise, and found alterations in more than 20 different metabolites. Some of these compounds help you burn calories and fat, while others help stabilize your blood sugar, among other things. Essentially, being of a healthy weight and exercising regularly creates a healthy feedback loop that optimizes and helps maintain healthy glucose and insulin levels through optimization of insulin receptor sensitivity. And, as I’ve mentioned before, insulin resistance—primarily driven by excessive consumption of refined sugars and grains along with lack of exercise—is the underlying factor of nearly all chronic disease that can take years off your life.
For example, heart disease and cancer are two of the top killers of Americans, and exercise can effectively help prevent the onset of both, primarily by driving down your insulin levels. Exercise also helps lower your estrogen levels, which explains why it appears to be particularly potent against breast cancer.
Exercise may also be imperative for successful treatment of serious diseases such as cancer. In fact, a new report issued by Macmillan Cancer Support argues that exercise should be part of standard cancer care. It recommends that all patients getting cancer treatment should be told to engage in moderate-intensity exercise for two and a half hours every week. Research has shown that exercise can:
- Reduce your risk of dying from cancer. For example, exercise reduces your risk of dying from prostate cancer by up to 30 percent. And a previous study by Harvard Medical School researchers found that breast cancer patients who exercise moderately for three to five hours a week cut their odds of dying from cancer by about half, compared to sedentary patients. In fact, any amount of weekly exercise increased a patient’s odds of surviving breast cancer. This benefit also remained constant regardless of whether women were diagnosed early on or after their cancer had spread.

What’s More Important: Diet or Exercise?

Here, Dr. Doug McGuff, author of the book “Body by Science,” explains how going back to a “paleo” way of eating – similar to the way our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate – can help you optimize your health and live a longer, more disease-free life. The paleo diet is not a fad – with proven science behind it, a growing number of physicians and health advocates are embracing this back-to-basics diet, which may be better at lowering body fat than exercise.
During the Paleolithic period, about 12,000 years ago, people ate primarily non-starchy vegetables, fruit, nuts, roots and lean meat, including ostrich and bison as well as organ meats and seafood—a far cry from the standard American diet. Today, these healthy staples have been largely replaced with refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, cereal, bread, potatoes and pasteurized milk products … which are doing you no favors in terms of health. During the Paleolithic period our ancestors didn’t die of heart disease, diabetes and cancer — which are among the leading causes of death today, and all are related to diet.
The primary disease-causing culprits in the modern diet are sugars, particularly fructose, and grains. If you want to avoid heart disease, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes or even cancer, you’ll want to severely restrict your fructose and grain consumption.
My Diet Plan—Summary of Basic Concepts
If you’re still confused about what a “proper diet” is, I suggest reviewing my Insulin Diet Plan, which is designed to guide you through the dietary changes in a step-by-step fashion, moving from beginners to intermediary to advanced. When properly applied, it can improve just about anyone’s health.
Following is a summary of the basic recommendations:
- Limit fructose to less than 25 grams per day. Ideally, you’ll also want to limit the amount of fructose from fruit to 15 grams per day, as you’re likely consuming ‘hidden’ fructose if you eat even small amounts of processed foods or sweetened beverages
- Limit or eliminate all processed foods
- Eliminate all gluten, and highly allergenic foods from your diet
- Eat organic foods whenever possible, preferably locally-grown
- Eat at least one-third of your food uncooked (raw), or as much as you can manage
- Increase the amount of fresh vegetables in your diet
- Avoid artificial sweeteners of all kinds
- Swap all trans fats (vegetable oils, margarine etc) for healthful fats like raw butter or coconut oil
- To re-balance your omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, take a high-quality omega-3 supplement, such as krill oil, and reduce your consumption of processed omega-6 fats from vegetable oils (trans fats)
- Drink plenty of pure water
- Optimize your vitamin D levels, either through appropriate sun exposure, a safe tanning bed, or as last resort an oral vitamin D3 supplement
Five Principles of Exercise
Getting back to exercise, variety is the name of the game. You also need to pay attention to intensity or level of difficulty. When an exercise becomes easy to complete, it’s a sign you need to work a little harder and give your body a new challenge.
There are five types of exercises that will turn your peak fitness regimen into a truly comprehensive exercise plan:
- Interval (Anaerobic) Training: This really is aerobic and anaerobic, but the research shows that the anaerobic phase if far more important. The BEST way to condition your heart and burn fat is NOT to jog or walk steadily for an hour. Instead, it’s to alternate short bursts of high-intensity exercise with gentle recovery periods. This type of exercise, known as interval training or burst type training, can dramatically improve your cardiovascular fitness and fat-burning capabilities.
Another major benefit of this approach is that it radically decreases the amount of time you spend exercising, while giving you even more benefits. For example, intermittent sprinting produces high levels of chemical compounds called catecholamines, which allow more fat to be burned from under your skin within the exercising muscles. The resulting increase in fat oxidation increases weight loss. So, short bursts of activity done at a very high intensity can help you reach your optimal weight and level of fitness, in a shorter amount of time.
It also promotes the production of human growth hormone (HGH), known as “the fitness hormone,” which can help you add youthful vigor to your years, in addition to promoting weight loss and improved muscle building.
- Aerobic: Jogging, using an elliptical machine, and walking fast are all examples of aerobic exercise, which will increase the amount of oxygen in your blood and increase endorphins, which act as natural painkillers. Aerobic exercise also activates your immune system, helps your heart pump blood more efficiently, and increases your stamina over time.
Just don’t make the mistake of using aerobic as your primary or only form of exercise, as you’ll forgo many of the most potent health benefits exercise has to offer if you do…
- Strength Training: Rounding out your exercise program with a 1-set strength training routine will ensure that you’re really optimizing the possible health benefits of a regular exercise program. You need enough repetitions to exhaust your muscles. The weight should be heavy enough that this can be done in fewer than 12 repetitions, yet light enough to do a minimum of four repetitions. It is also important NOT to exercise the same muscle groups every day. They need at least two days of rest to recover, repair and rebuild.
- Core Exercises: Your body has 29 core muscles located mostly in your back, abdomen and pelvis. This group of muscles provides the foundation for movement throughout your entire body, and strengthening them can help protect and support your back, make your spine and body less prone to injury and help you gain greater balance and stability.
Pilates and yoga are great for strengthening your core muscles, as are specific exercises you can learn from a personal trainer. Even if a personal trainer is not in the cards for you right now, please watch these sample videos for examples of healthy exercise routines you can do with very little equipment and in virtually any location. Focusing on your breath and mindfulness along with increasing your flexibility is an important element of total fitness.
Exercise Tips for Those with Chronic Health Problems
Remember that even if you’re chronically ill, exercise can be a potent ally. That said, if you have cancer or any other chronic disease, you will of course need to tailor your exercise routine to your individual scenario, taking into account your stamina and current health. For example, you may at times need to exercise at a lower intensity, or for shorter durations, but do make a concerted effort to keep yourself moving. As mentioned above, even cancer patients should aim for a minimum of 2.5 hours of exercise a week, at moderate intensity, to boost their chances of successful recovery.
Always listen to your body and if you feel you need a break, take time to rest. But even exercising for just a few minutes a day is better than not exercising at all.
In the event you are suffering from a very weakened immune system, you may want to exercise in your home instead of visiting a public gym. But remember that exercise will ultimately help to boost your immune system, so it’s very important to continue with your program, even if you suffer from chronic illness or cancer.
